I'm opening a gym and I needed a name. Many possibilities ran through my mind but none of them really felt right. I spent the better part of a month searching an was growing frustrated. I only spoke with Mong for an hour. I didn't have high expectations because I wasn't sure what an hour could actually accomplish. What I received exceeded my expectations. I now have a gym name and a logo that show the world the core of my business. The beautiful thing is how simplistic the design is. Occam's Razor tells us that the simplest answer is usually the correct answer. Multiple connotations now lie within a single word, an arc, triangle and line. I couldn't have asked for a better representation of what my correct values are. Moreover, Mong brought out aspects of my background as a musician and carpenter. It takes a truly great teacher to recognize the value of a students current knowledge and connect that with what the teacher understands to bring about the end result. Mong Phu gave me such great advice in a very honest and insightful way. I appreciate him showing me his "lens" of our brand and what we may do to improve it from here. Being of such a different background, it was so nice to have someone who has had experience in this industry as well as a new set of eyes give me feedback and advice on a start-up and also reflect on what he has done and what he wishes he knew when he was my age.
